4.4 FOAMGLAS® Compact green roof

Moisture load of green roofs

Roofs with planted areas are subject to an increase load of vapour and moisture working from both directions. The proven solution is the FOAMGLAS® Compact flat roof system. Since this insulating material is vapour-tight, condensate can never form in the insulation. The λ-value therefore always remains unchanged.

The system build-up depends to a great extent on the planting that is planned. With the Compact flat roof system, there is no condensate formation, no infiltration, no nutrient medium for roots looking for moisture in the insulation. This reduces the need for specialized anti-root materials.
